Torn between a pinstripe and a checked suit, uncertain which is more on-trend? Or are you simply not sure which one to pick? We will show you how each of them can be worn. Perhaps it will help you realise which is the right one for you.
Considering a pinstripe suit? We are happy to encourage you. Pinstripe suits are about as on-trend as it gets. But let us start with one thing: not every stripe is created equal. Without question, the easiest stripe to wear and to combine is a thin, very delicate pinstripe. From a distance it can look discreet on a suit, almost invisible. If you reach, for example, for a light-grey suit with a dark-grey stripe, you certainly will not go wrong. So yes to a pinstripe suit, but in order not to look too retro, stick to a subtle stripe and similar colour tones. Think carefully, however, if a bold pattern tempts you – such suits can come with their pitfalls, they will be harder to combine and unfortunately do not possess the same timeless quality.
A checked suit simply has real character. It is imaginative, out of the ordinary, on-trend, and you absolutely can wear it too. If you acquire one, bear in mind that combining it will be a touch trickier than with a plain or subtly pinstriped suit. But if fashion appeals to you at least a little, do not be put off. It offers you room for colour variations and a touch of experimentation.
In the Blažek autumn collection you will find several checked suits. A dark-grey one with a subtle blue stripe will look superb with a pale-blue shirt and a contrasting (for instance mustard-yellow) bow tie. In the informal section you will find a jacket in unakite tones of brown and green with a very discreet check. Here you need not shy away from a bolder combination with a petrol-coloured shirt in a floral print. Thanks to the jacket being crafted from 100% wool, you will feel relaxed and at ease in it all day long.
If you would like to wear a checked suit even though you are not one for combining clothes, a few basic tips will see you through. Whether your check comes in emerald green, navy and red, or in shades of grey, you can always pair it with a white shirt and you will not put a foot wrong. Then simply add a tie in a single tone or one with a very subtle floral pattern in one of the colours you have on the suit.
We are pleased that you are not content with just black and navy and would like to add a slightly more interesting suit to your wardrobe. Both the stripe and the check are on-trend; it comes down to your personal taste, but also to which pattern will combine better with what you already have in your wardrobe. That one earns a few extra plus points.
