Ladislav Blažek – The first man of men's fashion

At the very beginning of the Blažek brand, there is a cliché that is somehow inherent in similar success stories – namely, coincidence. It is 1992, a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Czech Technical University goes to Brno to a mechanical engineering fair, where he is supposed to take a detailed look at the exhibited machines, about which he is writing his diploma thesis. However, something else interests him at the exhibition site there. The differences between the clothing of domestic and foreign delegates are so significant that after the initial shock, the idea of trying to do things differently in this industry slowly begins to emerge.

First, small sample collections are created with all due caution, created by hired designers, and production comes only with specific orders. Behind their unprecedented success, in addition to fitting cuts and high-quality materials, is also inspiration from a certain lightness and flexibility of film production; Ladislav Blažek himself studied at a secondary film school and both his parents worked in television.

"Fashion, like film, plays with our emotions. It helps us be who we want to be, and through our clothes we send signals to other people. Many global brands grew up dressing big film stars. People get inspired in fashion by what they saw in films."

How we create collections

Each collection begins to be prepared a year in advance. The whole process begins at the world fabric fair in Milan, where Mr. Blažek and a team of designers regularly travel. The whole process continues with the design and development of the collection, which includes the selection of the most luxurious materials, patterning and other preparatory steps for creating the collection.

Collections are released twice a year, in spring and autumn, and each collection is divided into four sections: ceremony, formal, informal and sport.
The Ceremony collection includes iconic tuxedos and luxurious suits that are designed for extremely formal events where a strictly defined dress code is required.

In the formal collection, customers can find a wide selection of elegant suits, vests, shirts, formal coats and shoes. All this is accompanied by fashion accessories such as ties, cufflinks, bow ties and belts. This collection is carefully designed and focused on social and formal events where an exceptional and sophisticated look is expected.

Nowadays, the "Smart Casual" trend of dressing is becoming increasingly popular, and therefore the informal collection has been increasingly expanded in recent years to better reflect this trend. This collection includes a wide range of casual shirts, vests, jeans, separate trousers, jersey jackets, knitwear and casual shoes. The mainly autumn collection includes jackets and coats that not only look elegant, but are also made of water-resistant materials, which means that they also meet the functional requirements for the colder season.

This entire collection is ideal for everyday wear and allows you to combine comfort with an elegant look. The sports collection focuses on clothing and footwear for an active lifestyle, including sportswear such as designer T-shirts, sports sweatshirts, pants and sneakers. The collections follow each other and complement each other. When a customer buys something from the spring collection, they will find a piece in the autumn collection that will match it.

The Blažek company employs Czech designers, constructors and clothing technologists.
An important part of the team in every Blažek brand store are sales consultants and advisors, as well as tailors who specialize in sewing, alterations, and repairs of clothing, all of whom work together to ensure that the clothes fit perfectly and meet the customer's taste and needs.

In total, the company employs more than a hundred employees in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The company has built long-standing business relationships with the best suppliers of materials and fabrics exclusively from Europe. The production of collections takes place only in Europe, mainly in textile factories in Slovakia, and has been so since the very beginning of the company.
