With its rich history stretching all the way back to 1828, Tekstina has become a byword for excellence in fabric manufacture. Over the course of 190 years of existence, it has become a pioneer of innovation, sustainability and creativity, always with the aim of remaining at the forefront of technological progress.
Innovation at the outset: 1828-1850
The beginnings of Tekstina are closely tied to the invention of self-acting machines for spinning wool and cotton. The first cotton-spinning machine, in 1764, laid the groundwork for the industrial revolution in the textile industry. Tekstina was among the first to embrace this innovation, installing a Fourneyron turbine in 1828, which marked an increase in production and launched an era of modern textile manufacture.
Modern transformation: 1960 to the present
In 1839 Tekstina once again pushed the boundaries by installing its first steam engine. In doing so, it not only overcame the limitations of water power but also successfully harnessed the advantages of the industrial revolution.
A new age of innovation
During the 1960s Tekstina began its transformation into the modern fabric manufacturer we know today. The investment in a new rotary printing machine in 1960 was proof of its determination to achieve an optimal printing process. Over time Tekstina reoriented itself towards a modern environment in which creativity and innovation are key values.
