Monika Štaudová, who completes the designer trio of the Blažek brand, oversees two areas at once – knitwear and jeans. In both cases, moreover, she often takes part in the development of the material itself. With jeans, she shapes the colouring through washing techniques; with sweaters from yarn, she develops the pattern and determines its colour palette; with T-shirts, she creates original prints from the very beginning. Under her hands, too, the entire collection passes through countless times.
Which three pieces from the new spring/summer 2020 collection does she recommend?
In this collection I have a clear favourite, and that is an informal outfit in the style of sporting elegance, composed of a stylish jersey blazer, a minimalist V-neck and washable jersey trousers. Together these three pieces form a very on-trend look for the summer months.
A jersey blazer for every wardrobe
A comfortable jersey blazer with a discreet 3D pattern, very versatile to combine and suitable for a variety of occasions. A timeless piece that every gentleman should have in his wardrobe.
Hi-tech: washable suit trousers in jersey fabric
The trousers are made of washable fabric, which is an entirely new technology that we are introducing for the first time in this collection. The comfort of jersey is further enhanced by an admixture of elastane. In combination with a relaxed cut around the thighs, the comfort is truly at its maximum. The fabric is breathable and light, suited to warm weather. Stripes along the side seams lend a youthful, sporty flair while still remaining very elegant.
A jersey blazer combined with these jersey trousers is a splendid alternative to a casual suit. And as the finishing touch – naturally, the iconic white sneakers.
This is a very refreshing take on the V-neck T-shirt. The "V"-shaped neckline has a higher collar that partly alternates the lupo (that is, a close-fitting polo neck). The T-shirt is therefore very well suited to wear under a separate blazer or an informal suit. The cut, the fabric and the overall appearance of the T-shirt combine a sporting spirit with a timeless and luxurious feel. The T-shirt is easy to care for, made of a non-creasing material, and the added elastane provides superior comfort. The second must-have of the season!
